Neurosurgery / Intraoperative MRI

For more than a decade, OHSU has provided outstanding neurosurgical management of pituitary tumors (see Five-year Pituitary Surgical Outcomes Data at OHSU). Making use of the most advanced intraoperative MRI on the West Coast, it is common for OHSU Neurosurgery to obtain complete resection of very complex and large pituitary tumors. Intraoperative MRI produces images of the brain during surgery enabling the surgeon to remove difficult to visualize portions of pituitary tumors.

Surgery Performed with OHSU's Intraoperative MRI

Pre- and post-operative MRI images of a patient who was surgically (and biochemically) cured of acromegaly (GH excess). Surgery was performed by Dr. Johnny B. Delashaw using OHSU's intraoperative MRI.
